RUSSELL - Wayne E. Nuss, 78, died Dec. 30, 2009, in Wichita. He was born March 11, 1931, to Emanuel and Elizabeth Popp Nuss. On Nov. 21, 1954, he married Lila Dumler. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Mark and wife Sylvia, Russell, KS, and Neal, Russell, KS; a sister, Florence Mai, Great Bend; two grandsons, Eric and Brian Nuss. Wayne was preceded in death by an infant daughter Rebecca and three sisters, Alvina Miller, Viola Podszus and Corrine Dutschmann. A lifetime resident of Barton County, Wayne was a farmer and stockman. He was a member of the United Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger, Kansas. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at United Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger, with the Reverend Amy Austin presiding. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, and noon until service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Milberger Cemetery, Milberger. Memorials to Milberger Cemetery Fund or the General fund of United Emmanuel Lutheran Church, in care of the funeral home.
