Wayne Wilbur Harbaugh, age 72, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at his home in Otis, Kansas. He was born March 24, 1941 in Hays, Kansas the son of Willis and Elsie (Bender) Harbaugh. Wayne graduated from Luray High School and served his country in the United States Navy from 1959 until 1963. He married Sandra Rose February 24, 1968 at Salina, Kansas. Wayne has been an Otis, Kansas resident since 1996 coming from Colorado. He was a member of the Hoisington V.F.W., Great Bend American Legion and served on the board for LINK in Hays, Kansas. He enjoyed collecting coins, pencil sharpeners, and banks. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Harbaugh of the home in Otis, Kansas; two sons, Scott Harbaugh and wife Molly of Frederick, Colorado, Christopher Harbaugh of Las Vegas, Nevada; one brother, Stan Harbaugh and wife Bonnie of Longmont, Colorado; one sister, Judy Janssen and husband Wayne of Russell, Kansas; three grandchildren, Evan Harbaugh, Taya Harbaugh, and Kali Harbaugh and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Willis Harbaugh; mother, Elsie Dodson, and step-father, Walter Dodson. Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Otis Methodist Church in Otis, Kansas with Pastor Diana Hill officiating. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place.
