Violet Fern Seder, 92, died April 6, 2012 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born December 17, 1919 at Great Bend, the daughter of Fred H. and Katherine Marie (Brown) Meyer. She married Leon Earl Seder at Great Bend. He died March 29, 1972. A lifetime Great Bend resident, Mrs. Seder was owner of Maytag Laundry, Great Bend. Mrs. Seder was a member of Central Baptist Church, Eagles Auxiliary, and American Legion Auxiliary. She was formerly Senior Center president and a volunteer at the Barton County Historical Society. She loved and adored her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Survivors include one son, Robert L. Seder and his wife Ann, Great Bend; one sister, Viola Befort, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three grandchildren: Sherri Diane Donovan, Hoisington, Kansas; Robbie Lynn Hill, Lee's Summit, Missouri; and Robert L. Seder, II, Great Bend; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert Meyer, Alfred Meyer, and Russell Meyer; and one sister, Katherine Douglas. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 9, 2012 at Central Baptist Church, Great Bend, with the Reverend Dr. Joan Harrington and the Reverend John Grummon officiating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 8, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Central Baptist Church, in care of the funeral home.
