Viola D. Peterson, 90, died June 16, 2012, at Rose Estates Assisted Living Center, Overland Park, KS. She was born June 12, 1922, in Barton County, near Odin, KS, to Hubert J. and Mary (Peschka) Beck. She was a homemaker, working previously as a secretery for various Great Bend businesses. She married Francis Dail "Pete" Peterson Feb. 20, 1960 at Hoisington. He died July 17, 2001. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Mary Beth Peterson of Overland Park. She was preceded in passing by a son, Bradley Peterson, three brothers, Bernard, Leonard, and Frances. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hoisington. Vigil and Rosary 7 p.m. and visitation 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington. Memorials to St. John Cemetery Fund, in care of the funeral home.
