Vickie Ann Ruble, 82, passed away March 14, 2026, at The University of Kansas Health Systems – Great Bend Campus, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born on June 12, 1943, in Ness County, Kansas, to Jacob and Dorothy (Collins) Boos. On April 3, 1958, she married Larry R. Ruble in Alva, Oklahoma. He passed on October 11, 2013.

A lifetime Great Bend resident, Vickie worked for Duckwall's and Alco before joining USD 428, first at the central office for Roosevelt Junior High School, then over 40 years as the head of lunch services at Park Elementary School prior to her retirement. She was a religious person – making sure that her children were raised in faith. Vickie enjoyed her bowling league, working concessions for SRCA Dragstrip races, camping and boating at Lake Wilson, attending the Barton County Fair and Kansas State Fair, listening to Elvis – even referring to her husband as "Teddy Bear", and was an avid animal lover. She was a very dedicated mother and grandmother, known for her involvement in her kids' lives from being a Campfire Girl and Scout leader to attending all their events. This support carried on to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, going to every event and program she could.

Survivors include her children, DeAnna Moran (Steve) of Claflin, Tammy Bell (K.B.) of Great Bend, and Larry M. Ruble (Lorrie) of Great Bend; six grandchildren, Nathan Farmer, Suzanne Montes, Deidre Moran-Broodryk, Alisha Markley, Cody Ruble, and Bryce Moran; seven great grandchildren, Ashlyn Elliott, Brody Montes, Memphys Markley, Peyton Ruble, Isaac Ruble, Josie Moran, Christiaan Broodryk; one great great grandchild, Rowyn Elliott, with another on the way; three siblings, Kathy Leiser (David) of Newton, Christina Smith (Tyrone) of Springfield, Missouri; and David Ramsey (Heather) of Great Bend; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and sister, Betty Jo Boos.
