Tomasa Zuniga Perez, 88, died February 8, 2010 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born December 29, 1921 at Kenedy, Texas, the daughter of Arcadio and Guadelupe (Hernandez) Zuniga. She married Rosendo Perez, Sr., in 1940 at Kenedy. He died July 23, 1994. A Hoisington, Kansas, resident since 1996, coming from Leoti, Kansas, Mrs. Perez was a cook for the nursing home and hospital at Leoti. Mrs. Perez was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hoisington. She enjoyed bingo, watching sports, and cooking and selling food out of her home. She was an avid supporter of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events. Survivors include four sons: Rosendo Perez, Jr., and wife Diane, Garden City, Kansas; Ovidio Perez and wife Glenda, Oakley, Kansas; Noe Perez and wife Cecelia, Garden City, Kansas; and Wilfido "Willie" Perez and wife Christi, Salina, Kansas; one daughter, Viola "Vi" Glanville and husband Harold, Great Bend, Kansas; two brothers: Bartolo Zuniga and Martin Zuniga, both of San Antonio, Texas; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Cipriano Perez; six brothers: Rosadio Zuniga, Manuel Zuniga, Domingo Zuniga, Alberto Zuniga, Fernando Zuniga, and Nicolas Zuniga; and four sisters, Domitila Anthony, Francisca Montez, Candelaria Carrasco, and Marcella Trivino. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 12, 2010, at Bryant Funeral Home. The Reverend Ralph Jarboe, Jr., will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Leoti Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, February 11, 2010 with the family to recieve friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m, at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Elder Care, Hoisington United Methodist Church, or High School Athletic Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
