Terry Raymond Kowalsky, 69, died July 7, 2012 at his home, Kanopolis, Kansas. He was born November 15, 1942 at Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Leo Joseph and Hilda Margaret (Heinz) Kowalsky. A Kanopolis resident since 2009, coming from Redding, California, where he had been a longtime resident. He operated a machine shop in Redding and also farmed and raised cattle. Mr. Kowalsky was a National Guard veteran. He was also involved in area dirt track racing in the 1960's and 1970's. Survivors include two sons: Shawn Kowalsky, Texas; and Stacy Kowalsky and his wife Meredith, Winfield, Kansas; two sisters: Jane Komarek Richardson and her husband Jack, Great Bend; and Glenda Heinz and her husband Mark, Ellinwood, Kansas; two brothers: Kenny Kowalsky, Ellinwood; and Alan Kowalsky, Ellinwood; two grandchildren: Kyle Kowalsky and Austin Kowalsky; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home. Father Don Bedore will officiate. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Golden Belt Humane Society or American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home.
