Teresa L. Alkire, 61, died Friday, March 2, 2012 at Great Bend Regional Hospital in Great Bend, Kansas. She was born January 22, 1951 at Woodward, Oklahoma the daughter of Leland and LaVina (DeWalt) Redding. Teresa graduated from Hoisington High School and was a lifelong area resident. She worked in the foodservice industry. She was very artistic and enjoyed painting. Survivors include one daughter, Dawn Alkire of Great Bend; two sisters, Pat Patzner and husband Joseph of Joplin, Missouri, Bonnie Pierson and husband Richard of California, Missouri; four grandchildren, Dustin Alkire, Crystal Alkire, Tiffany Pitzer and Derek Pitzer. Teresa was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, March 5, 2012 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Hoisington Cemetery.
