Steven Myron Connell, 57, died February 6, 2010 at Peachtree Christian Hospice, Duluth, Georgia. He was born December 28, 1952 at Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Richard and Bonnie (Mousel) Connell. He was in management and sales. He graduated from Claflin High School and attended Washburn University and the University of Kansas. Mr. Connell was a member of First Metropolitan Community Church in Georgia and had a passion for cooking. Survivors include his parents, Richard and Bonnie Connell, Claflin, Kansas; two brothers: Mike Connell and wife Belinda, Claflin; and Mark Connell and wife Kim, Claflin; one sister, Carol McAtee and husband Travis, Lakin, Kansas; and partner, David Bell, Duluth, Georgia. Memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 12, 2010 at the United Methodist Church, Claflin. The Reverend Gene Langhofer will officiate. Burial will be in Claflin Cemetery. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Peachtree Christian Hospice or the American Cancer Society, both in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
