Steve "Zig" Sigler, 56, died May 15, 2012 at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington, Kansas. He was born July 8, 1955 at Los Angeles, California, the son of Bert and Glenna (Brooks) Sigler. He married Becky Brown August 4, 1990 at Great Bend, Kansas. A Great Bend resident most of his life, Mr. Sigler was a driller and roughneck for Duke Drilling and Pickrell Drilling. He enjoyed playing softball, NASCAR, drag racing, helping people, and spending time with his family and friends. Most of all, he loved working in the oilfield. Survivors include his wife, Becky Sigler, of the home; two sons: Josh Sigler, Manhattan, Kansas; and Jeremy Sigler, of the home; two daughters: Ashley Ellis and her husband Tony, Brentwood, Tennessee; and Kristina Benner, McComb, Mississippi; one sister, Linda Hippler, Azusa, California; three brothers: Eddie Sigler, Loma Linda, California; Bert Sigler, Hutchinson, Kansas; and Robert Sigler, Hutchinson; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Donna Morrison. Memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home with the Reverend Dick Ogle officiating. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are requested to the Children's Education Fund, in care of the funeral home.
