Stephanie C. Cain, age 92, died January 22, 2007 at Great Bend, Kansas. She was born the daugther of Anton and Emelia (Haberman) Schenk November 23, 1914 at Otis, Kansas. She married Benjamin Cain November 12, 1942 at Great Bend, Kansas. He died December 18, 2002. Mrs. Cain was a lifetime resident of Barton and Rush Counties, and was a homemaker. Mrs. Cain was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose and St. Rose Altar Society, both of Great Bend; and a former member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Olmitz, Kansas. Surviving Mrs. Cain are one son, Jim Cain and wife, Robin, Great Bend, Kansas; one daughter, Karen Perry Hayes and husband, Vernon, Great Bend, Kansas; one sister, Fridolina Schenk, Great Bend, Kansas; and four grandchildren, Chris Cain, Steve Cain, Michael Perry, and Jason Perry, and their families, including eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Anton Schenk, Leonard Schenk, and Ben Schenk, and three sisters, Albina Schenk, Margaret Cox, and an infant sister. Altar Society Rosary will be held at 4:00 p.m., and Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 25, 2007 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Olmitz, Kansas, with Father Ultan Murphy presiding. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Olmitz, Kansas. Friends may call from noon to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Bryant Funeral Home. A memorial in Mrs. Cain's name has been established with Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose, Great Bend, or St. Ann Catholic Church, Olmitz, in care of the funeral home.
