Shirley Ann Peters, 83, died May 23, 2011 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born April 1, 1928 at Ulysses, Kansas, the daughter of Lamont and Marcella (Crebs) Rowland. She married G. Darrell Peters April 5, 1991 at Great Bend. A Great Bend resident since 1945, coming from Burrton, Kansas, Mrs. Peters was a secretary and bookkeeper for Peters Drilling Company. Mrs. Peters was of the Presbyterian faith. Survivors include her husband, G. Darrell Peters, of the home; one daughter, Debbie Bulcao, Great Bend; one step-son, Michael Peters, McPherson, Kansas; three step-daughters: Beverly Shackelford, Dallas, Texas; Debbie Elliot, Dallas; and Becky Young, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one brother, Allen Hatch, San Mateo, California; four grandchildren: Cheri Warford, Pomona, California; Jason Scott, Fontana, California; Amanda DeLong, Manila, Arkansas; and Christina Bulcao, Great Bend; and six great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Bryant Funeral Home. The Reverend Dick Ogle will officiate. Inurnment will be in Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Dodge City, Kansas, at a later date. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are requested to Barton County Historical Society or Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.
