Shirley Rae Hunt, 77, died March 31, 2013 at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood, Kansas. She was born November 15, 1935 at Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of Ray William and Margie Catherine (Swann) Jones. She married Arthur Wayne Hunt December 24, 1951 at Lyons, Kansas. A long-time Great Bend resident, Mrs. Hunt worked for A/R Systems and previously worked at Marmie Motors, was the Love's Store Manager, and was a craft store owner. Mrs. Hunt was a member of First Street Church of God, Hoisington. She enjoyed being a seamstress and wedding cake decorating. Survivors include her husband, Arthur Wayne Hunt, of the home; one son, Larry W. Hunt, Great Bend; one daughter, Dr. Catherine Hunt Strecker and her husband Monty, Ellinwood; one brother, Jerry Jones, Great Bend; ten grandchildren: Lisa Ann Hunt Tolan and her husband Eric, Kristi Renee Hunt Lyons and her husband Steven, Serea Marie Hunt Shepard, Parry Sherman Hunt, Francis Wayne "Russ" Hunt and his companion Reana L. March, Jacob L. Strecker and his wife Andrea, Nicklaus A. Strecker and his wife Laura, Rachel C. Strecker, Rebecca R. Strecker, and Joanna R. Strecker; and twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Bryant Funeral Home with the Reverend Dick Ogle officiating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Bryant Funeral Home.
