Sherlyn "Sherry" Karst, 66, lost her courageous battle with squamous cell carcinoma on April 9, 2014. Born on November 13, 1947, in Paola, she was the daughter of Wilbur and Pauline Riley. On January 24, 1968, she married Don Karst, while attending Pittsburg State University. Those left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband Don; one son, Brett of Port Orange, Florida; two daughters, Tara of Las Vegas, Nevada and Tami Karst of Commerce City, Colorado; two granddaughters, Taylor Danae Karst and Joanna Rae Mick; her mother, Pauline Riley of Columbia, South Carolina; and two brothers, Ed and wife Tonda of Columbia, South Carolina, and Rob of Olathe. Graveside services will held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Hoisington Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 13, 2014 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington. Memorials are suggested to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, in care of the funeral home.
