Sharlene A. Reichard, 67, died February 9, 2008 at her Great Bend, Kansas, residence. She was born June 17, 1940 at Great Bend, the daughter of A. F. "Louie" and Elizabeth A. "Betty" Ackerman Gerritzen. She married George A. "Art" Reichard September 25, 1963 at Great Bend. He died June 12, 2003. Mrs. Reichard formerly worked in dry cleaning and later was a cook for the Senior Center. She was a lifetime Barton County resident. Mrs. Reichard was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick and the Altar Society, both of Great Bend. Surviving Mrs. Reichard are three sisters, Carol Davis, Dodge City, Kansas; Marilyn M. Post, Hutchinson, Kansas; and Janet Weseloh, Sylvan Grove, Kansas. She was preceded in death by a sister, Joanne Hamm, and two brothers-in-law, Leon Hamm and Floyd Davis. Altar Society Rosary will be at 4:00 p.m., and a vigil service at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 14, 2008, both at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 15, 2008 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Great Bend, with Father Reginald A. Urban officiating. Burial will be in the Claflin Cemetery, Claflin, Kansas. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials in Mrs. Reichard's name are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, in care of the funeral home.
