Sandra L. Sandi Simmons, 67, died November 11, 2011 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born May 14, 1944 at Great Bend, the daughter of Gerhardt LaVern and Delora Jean (McCullough) Nuss. She was married to Gary Simmons for thirty-five years. A lifetime Great Bend resident, Mrs. Simmons was owner and operator of Great Bend Floral for thirty-eight years. Mrs. Simmons was a member of First Southern Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Gary Simmons, of the home; her mother, Delora Nuss, Great Bend; one son, Shane Simmons, Great Bend; one daughter, Stephanie Simmons, Norco, California; two brothers: Terry Nuss, Golden, Colorado; and Greg Nuss, Great Bend; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Gerhardt Nuss. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 14, 2011 at Bryant Funeral Home. The Reverend Dr. Doyle Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Golden Belt Memorial Park. Friends may call from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, November 13, 2011at Bryant Funeral Home.
