Sandra K. Brinson, age 66, of Hoisington died Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. She was born October 4, 1946 at Yale, Oklahoma the daughter of Alvin M. Sr. and Mildred Faye (Lanning) Sweeden. Sandra a lifelong resident of Barton County graduated from Great Bend High School. On June 28, 1964 she married Loren (Gene) Brinson at Great Bend. She worked at C.O. Mammels grocery store until they closed. She was a caregiver for many people throughout the years. Sandra was a member of the VFW women's auxiliary and the American Legion women's auxiliary both in Hoisington. She enjoyed caring for animals and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her husband Loren (Gene) Brinson of Hoisington; two brothers, Alvin M. Sweeden Jr. and wife Donna of Krebs, Oklahoma, Gerald R. Sweeden and wife Karen of Hutchinson, Kansas; five sisters, Helen Senn of Lake Arrowhead, California, Faye Lamb and husband Jerry of Great Bend, Carol Fox and husband Richard of Great Bend, Ruth Staley and husband Dwight of Salina, Kathy Coyle of Great Bend. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews including special nephew J.D. Farmer and wife Rose of Hoisington and Goddaughter and niece Shelby (Bo) Zuniga and husband Juan of Midland, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Don Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
