Samuel Clyde Beard, 51, died July 7, 2010 at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. He was born June 16, 1959 at Corpus Christi, Texas, the son of Durwood and Thelma Mae (Hale) Beard. He was a machinist for Professional Sales and Service, Wichita. A Colwich, Kansas, resident for four years, Mr. Beard formerly resided in Great Bend, Kansas. Mr. Beard was a member of First Assembly of God, Great Bend; and Maranatha Worship Center, Wichita. Survivors include his father: Durwood Beard, Phillipsburg, Kansas; his mother, Thelma Mae Troll, Wichita; two daughters: Samantha Thier and husband Aaron, Great Bend; and Shanda Beard, Great Bend; one sister: Margaret Behny and husband Mark, Colwich; one brother, James Beard and wife Kathy, Phillipsburg; one step-sister, Karen Beard, Corpus Christi, Texas; and one grandson, Delton Thier. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 10, 2010 at First Assembly of God, Great Bend. Pastors Michael Clarensau and Dwight Dozier will officiate. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, July 9, 2010, with the family receiving friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials have been established with Maranatha Worship Center, Wichita, or First Assembly of God, Great Bend, both in care of the funeral home.
