Sally Allison, 65, died September 13, 2009 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born August 18, 1944 at Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Lloyd and Ruth (Newman) Simmons. She was a 1962 graduate of Elk City (Oklahoma) High School and attended Oklahoma University. She married Dr. Mike Allison August 22, 1965 at Elk City, Oklahoma. A homemaker, Mrs. Allison was a Great Bend resident since 1969, coming from Sembach, Germany. Mrs. Allison was a member of First United Methodist Church, E. H. U., and Great Bend Area Panhellenic. She was an active Panther Booster and was very active with her children as well as being a devoted wife and mother. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Mike Allison, of the home; three sons: Cord Tyler Allison and wife, Robbie, Olathe, Kansas; Slade Bridger Allison, Tyler, Texas; and Dant Driker Allison and wife, Jennifer, Columbia, Missouri; one brother: L. N. Simmons, Elk City, Oklahoma; three grandchildren; and five step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at First United Methodist Church. The Reverend Tom Sheldon will officiate. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery North. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 15, 2009, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials in Mrs. Allison's name have been established with the CKMC Foundation for the Benefit of the Heartland Cancer Center or the M. S. Society, both in care of the funeral home.
