Ryan Lee Byers, 21, died August 6, 2011 in Rice County, Kansas. He was born January 27, 1990 at Great Bend, Kansas, the son of Steven and Karma (Miller) Byers. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, Ryan worked in the mail room at the Great Bend Tribune. Survivors include his parents, Steven and Karma Byers, Great Bend; one brother, Ray Steven Byers of Hoisington, Kansas; maternal grandmother and step-grandfather Curtis and Janet Lohrding of Bella Vista, Arkansas; maternal grandfather and step-grandmother Richard and Jeanie Miller of Great Bend; paternal grandmother, Betty Byers of Great Bend;and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Ray Byers. Friends may sign the register book Monday, August 8, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will be a private family inurnment at a later date as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to the Cheyenne Bottoms Refuge, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
