Ruth Liscum Edmond, 91, died December 19, 2008 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born October 21, 1917 at Plevna, Kansas, the daughter of Porter and Myrtle (Loutzenhiser) Liscum. She married William J. "Bill" Edmond May 16, 1942 at Hutchinson, Kansas. He died May 17, 1999. A resident of Great Bend since 1952 coming from Geneseo, Kansas, Mrs. Edmond was a homemaker and retired credit clerk for Sears. She was also a former Welcome Wagon hostess. Mrs. Edmond was a member of the Church of Christ, Great Bend. Survivors include one son, John R. Edmond, Pryor, Oklahoma; one daughter, Pat Pflughoft and husband, Gene, Hutchinson, Kansas; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Liscum and Charles Liscum; and two sisters, Paulene Foote and Maryalma Fair. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home with Bill Buggeln officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, Kansas. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday, December 22, 2008 and from 9:00 a.m. to service time Tuesday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Carpenter Place Children's Home, in care of the funeral home.
