Ruby A. Wilcox, 96, died Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Ellinwood District Hospital, Ellinwood, Kansas. She was born November 15, 1912 at Healy, Kansas, the daughter of William Henry and Amelia Ann (Worley) Neal. She married Andrew J. Wilcox November 7, 1942 at Great Bend, Kansas. He died September 26, 1954. A cook in several restaurants, Mrs. Wilcox was a resident of Hoisington, Kansas, for many years, coming from Scott City, Kansas. Mrs. Wilcox was a member of the Methodist Church, Healy, Kansas. She had no children of her own, but is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six brothers: Lawrence G. Neal, Henry F. Neal, Jessie G. Neal, Harold V. Neal, and John W. Neal; and one sister, Lena E. Granger. Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Hoisington Cemetery. The Reverend John Grummon will officiate. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to service time Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Ruby Wilcox Fund, in care of the funeral home.
