Ruby N. Krueger, 72, died December 4, 2008 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born July 2, 1936 at Cummings, Kansas, the daughter of Maberly T. and Pansy R. Newman. She married Dr. Haven C. Krueger August 18, 1957 at Cummings. Mrs. Krueger was a graduate of Mount St. Scholastica, Atchison, Kansas and the University of Kansas, earning a BA in psychology and education. She was a former elementary teacher in Kansas City, Kansas, and Rochester, Minnesota; and was a bookkeeper. Mrs. Krueger was a resident of Great Bend since 1972, coming from Prairie Village, Kansas. Mrs. Krueger was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Central Kansas Medical Center Auxiliary, Kansas Medical Society Auxiliary, National League of Cities, League of Women Voters, City/County Planning Commission, and a Great Bend City Council member from 1979 to 1985. Survivors include her husband, Haven C. Krueger, M. D., of the home; two sons: Michael R. Krueger, Kansas City, Missouri; and Bryan C. Krueger, Gladstone, Missouri; two daughters: Elisabeth K. Luthi, Overland Park, Kansas; and Lisa M. Schober, Stilwell, Kansas; one brother, Thomas M. Newman, Tampa, Florida; one sister, Grace Sheeley, Nortonville, Kansas; and seven grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Round Mound Cemetery, Atchison, Kansas, with the Reverend Beverly Bowyer officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday, December 6, 2008 with the family receiving friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Ruby Krueger Scholarship Fund, in care of the funeral home.
