Rubi Paulina Perez, 14, passed away April 8, 2026, in Great Bend, Kansas. She was born October 13, 2011, in Great Bend, to Raul & Araceli (Gonzalez) Perez.

Rubi was an 8th grade student at Great Bend Middle School. She was a standout student among her peers and teachers, always spreading positivity to anyone she came across. She was an exceptional athlete that excelled at track, volleyball, and basketball. Rubi loved to do make up and enhance her already stunning natural beauty. Her legacy will live on in her sweet demeanor, smile, zest for life, and offering kindness always.

Survivors include her parents; brothers, Mateo Perez, Alberto Perez; grandparents, Humberto and Gloria Gonzalez, Raul Perez, Sr.; aunts, Alba Gonzalez and her husband Enrique, Lisa Ivete Corral and her husband Alberto, Humberto Gonzalez; cousins, Vanessa Gonzalez, Abigail Gonzalez, Iker Gonzalez, Valeria Olague, Ximena Gonzalez; and many friends she made. She was preceded in death by grandmother, Maria Perez.

Visitation will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Bryant Funeral Home, in Great Bend, Kansas, with Mass of Christian Burial at 5:00 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.  Family requests, in honor of Rubi, to be in white attire. Memorials may be made out to Rubi Perez Memorial Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.

Rubi cursaba el 8.º grado en la escuela secundaria Great Bend Middle School. Era una estudiante destacada entre sus compañeros y maestros, siempre compartiendo positividad con todos a su alrededor. Fue una atleta excepcional que sobresalió en atletismo, voleibol y baloncesto. A Rubi le encantaba maquillarse y resaltar su ya hermosa belleza natural. Su legado vivirá en su dulce carácter, su sonrisa, su alegría de vivir y su constante bondad hacia los demás.

Le sobreviven sus padres; sus hermanos, Mateo Pérez y Alberto Pérez; sus abuelos, Humberto y Gloria González, y Raúl Pérez Sr.; sus tías, Alba González y su esposo Enrique, Lisa Ivete Corral y su esposo Alberto; su tío, Humberto González; sus primos, Vanessa González, Abigail González, Iker González, Valeria Olagüe y Ximena González; así como muchos amigos que tuvo a lo largo de su vida. Fue precedida en la muerte por su abuela, María Pérez.

La velación se llevará a cabo de 10:30 a.m. a 4:00 p.m. el miércoles 15 de abril de 2026 en la Bryant Funeral Home en Great Bend, Kansas, seguida de la misa de cuerpo presente a las 5:00 p.m. en la Iglesia Católica St. Rose of Lima La familia solicita, en honor a Rubi, vestir de blanco.
