Roy M. Biles, 80, died April 21, 2007 at his Heizer, Kansas, home. He was born August 22, 1926 at Pinetop, Missouri, the son of Robert Bert and Ida Jane (Southard) Biles. He married Claudie Piland April 30, 1945 at Great Bend, Kansas. He worked in maintenance for Midwest Energy at Great Bend until his retirement. Living most of his life in Heizer, he came from Pinetop. Mr. Biles was a member of the First Church of God, Great Bend. Survivors include his wife, Claudie, of the home; one son: Robert Earl Biles, Great Bend, Kansas; six daughters: Lavonna Lick, White City, Kansas; Susan Marie Hartsell, Wagner, Oklahoma; Sherry Smolik, Heizer, Kansas; Rhonda Suppes, Hutchinson, Kansas; Karla Bruce, Great Bend, Kansas; and Brenda Johnson, Albuquerque, New Mexico; one brother: Paul Biles, Burley, Idaho; one sister: Bertie Jane Hood, Salina, Kansas; fourteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Biles, and four sisters, Clara White, Eudene Guest, Blanche Fitmaurice, and Lois Stanley Biles. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Bryant Funeral Home. Officiants will be the Reverend Dick Ogle and the Reverend Tom Swain. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend, Kansas. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday, April 23, 2007, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family, in care of the funeral home.
