Ronnie Gene Whitt, 72, died October 5, 2014, at Newton Medical Center, Newton, KS. He was born May 10, 1942, at Hoisington, Kansas, the son of Jack A. and Rita A. (Beal) Whitt. Ronnie graduated from Hoisington High School. He was a disabled veteran serving during the Vietnam War as a SN in the Navy from 1961 to 1965. Survivors include: a brother, Jerald W. "Jerry" Whitt of Hutchinson; a sister, Sharon K. Verhoven of Buffalo, NY; five nieces and nephews. A memorial graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 20, 2014, at Hoisington Cemetery with military honors conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard.
