Olmitz, KS Roland J. Bahr passed away on March 9, 2008 at the Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, Kansas He was born March 30, 1923 in Barton County the son of Adolph and Rose (Hickey) Bahr. A lifetime resident of Olmitz he was a retired farmer. He belonged to St. Ann Catholic Church, Olmitz; fourth degree Knights of Columbus and Fraternal Order of the Eagle #646, Great Bend. On October 7, 1947 Roland married Dorothy A. Mayer at Olmitz, KS. She preceded in death on January 10, 1989. Other survivors include three sons, David Bahr, Olmitz, KS; Jerry Bahr and wife, Linda, Otis, KS and Steve Bahr and wife, Peggy, McPherson, Ks; two daughters, Barbara Deckert and husband, Dwight, Wichita, KS and Sharon Wissman and husband, Robert, Albert, KS; a brother, Eugene Bahr, Olmitz, KS; two sisters, Teresa Jilg and Rose Marie Frieb, both of Albert, KS. Eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Roland was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth and Ron Bahr and a grandson, Corey Bahr. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 am Wednesdy, at St. Ann Catholic Church, Olmitz, with Father Ultan Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in St. Ann Church Cemetery, Olmitz. Friends may call from 9:00 am until 8:00 pm Wednesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, KS. Memorials are suggested to the St. Ann Catholic Church or Albert Fire Department.
