Robert L. Deutsch, 71, died November 21, 2008 at his Hoisington, Kansas, residence. He was born April 12, 1937 at Hoisington, the son of Frederick and Emelia (Bitter) Deutsch. He was a retired employee of the City of Hoisington and the Kansas State Highway Department. Mr. Deutsch was a lifetime resident of the Hoisington and Susank area. Mr. Deutsch was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Hoisington. Survivors include two brothers: J. L. Deutsch, Hoisington, Kansas; and Dean Deutsch, Hutchinson, Kansas; and four sisters: Helena Mai, Hoisington, Kansas; Theresa Dumler, Russell, Kansas; Irene Bitter, Hoisington, Kansas; and Wilma Haesemeyer, Hutchinson, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents; and six brothers, Armin Deutsch, Raymond Deutsch, Leland Deutsch, Edward Deutsch, Edwin Deutsch, and Paul Deutsch. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sautrday, November 22, 2008 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with the Reverend Mark Lovett officiating. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Susank, Kansas. Memorials are requested to Concordia Lutheran Church, in care of the funeral home.
