Rick Wells, 45, died February 4, 2013 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita, Kansas. He was born September 18, 1967 at Denver, Colorado, the son of Jackie Wayne and Debby Anne (Brewer) Wells. An Ellinwood, Kansas, resident for seven years, coming from Denver, he was formerly a cook for Jim's Cafe and Dee Dee's Pizza. Mr. Wells was a member of Amazing Grace Church, Denver. Survivors include his mother, Debby Sheldon and her husband Larry, Ellinwood; two sisters: Terry Rhyne, Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Valentine Shiverdeck, Lebanon, Missouri; three brothers: David Wells, Ellinwood; Orlie Hoover, Amarillo, Texas; and Jackie Wells, Lebanon, Missouri; maternal grandfather, Edwin Stoppel, Ellinwood; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Elva Stoppel. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 8, 2013 at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Curtis Reinhardt officiating. Burial will be in Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery. Memorials are requested to Rick Wells Funeral Expense Fund, in care of the funeral home.
