Richard Morgan Edwards, 80, died December 8, 2010 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, Kansas. He was born October 30, 1930 at Spring City, Pennsylvania, the son of Morgan and Margaret Edwards. He married Marilyn Spruill Standish February 14, 1975 at Reno, Nevada. A Great Bend resident since 1972, coming from Kentucky, Mr. Edwards was an engineer for ONeill Tank. He was a United States Army veteran during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Edwards was a member of Delta Chi Fraternity, Penn State University. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Edwards, of the home; two daughters: Krista Beth Fraga, Everett, Washington; and Rebecca Buechler, Imperial Beach, California; two step-sons: Scott Standish and wife Tonie, Great Bend; and Barton Standish, Phoeniz, Arizona; four grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren. Memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 27, 2010 at Bryant Funeral Home with the Reverend William F. Johnson officiating. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Private family inurnment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorials are requested to CKMC Foundation to benefit the Heartland Cancer Center or Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.
