Rhoda Sue DeVorss, 75, died July 16, 2015, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita. Born April 4, 1940, at Rocky Ford, Colo., she was the daughter of Everett and Josie Ewers. On May 10, 1957, she married Robert Lee DeVorss in Raton, N.M. He died on Oct. 14, 1999. A resident of Great Bend, coming from Yoder, Colo. in 2000, she was a cook for Fowler Nursing Home. Mrs. DeVorss was a member of Faith Community Church in Great Bend. Survivors include two sons, Ron DeVorss and his wife Debra of Great Bend, and Russell DeVorss and his wife Trish of Bushton; two daughters, Darlene Winters and her husband Mike of Brush, Colo., and Rhonda "Sherry" Weeks and her husband Bill of Rozel; one sister, Katie Hopkins of Miami, Okla.; one brother, Tom Ewers of Strattford, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Ewers; and sisters, Peg Penrod, Bettie Jo Perry, and Edith McMillan. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. MDT, Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Fowler Cemetery, in Fowler, Colo. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday, July 20, 2015 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.
