R. D. Standlee, 82, died December 31, 2007 at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. He was born April 11, 1925 at Winfield, Kansas, the son of David and Clara Briscoe Standlee. He married Betty Rose Kastrup November 28, 1942 at Russell, Kansas. Mr. Standlee worked in the oilfield most of his life and was owner and operator of Energy III, Inc. A loving and devoted husband and father, Mr. Standlee was a United States Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Standlee was of the Nazarene faith. Surviving Mr. Standlee include his wife, of the home; two sons, R. D. Standlee, Jr. and wife, Terrie, Enid, Oklahoma, and Bruce Standlee and wife, JoAnn, Hudson, Kansas; one daughter, Rose L. Goldsberry, Medicine Lodge, Kansas; one brother, Kenneth Standlee, Ellinwood, Kansas; one sister, Darlene Honomichl, Ellinwood, Kansas; six grandsons, and fourteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home with the Reverend John Grummon officiating. Burial will be in Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood, Kansas. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, January 4, 2008 and from 9:00 a.m. to service time Saturday, January 5, 2008 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials in Mr. Standlee's name are suggested to the Salvation Army, in care of the funeral home.
