R. Dean Henbest, 69, died March 9, 2011 at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. He was born October 25, 1941 at Exeter, Missouri, the son of Burl and Lawanda (Summers) Henbest. After graduating from Hoisington High School in 1959, he spent a significant amount of time in Kenmore, Washington, before returning to Hoisington ten years ago. He worked as an automotive paint and body technician. Mr. Henbest was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, Hoisington. He enjoyed woodworking. Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Jack and husband David, Auburn, Washington; one brother, Ray Henbest and wife Nita, Los Angeles, California; three sisters: Patricia Huston and husband David, Ruidoso, New Mexico; Linda Thornton and husband Tom, Broadview, New Mexico; and Cara Henbest, Seattle, Washington; special friend, Eunice Lane, Hoisington; and her sons Rick Phelps and Damon Phelps; grandchildren, Breana Jack and Brittany Jack; pastor and best bud Pastor Don Fisher; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the Church of the Nazarene, Hoisington. Pastor Don Fisher will officiate. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are requested to the Hoisington Church of the Nazarene, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
