Peggy Ann Krom, 58, died December 17, 2007 at her Great Bend, Kansas, residence. She was born July 31, 1949 at Great Bend, Kansas, the daughter of Johnny and Gertrude Likes Read. She married Clarence V. "Butch" Krom, Jr., January 1, 1967 at Great Bend. Mrs. Krom was a hair dresser for Hair West and later for Creative Touch, both of Great Bend. She was a lifetime resident of Great Bend. Mrs. Krom was a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Great Bend. Survivors include her husband, Clarence V. "Butch" Krom, Jr., of the home; her mother, Gertrude Read, Great Bend, Kansas; two daughters, Lisa Larie Reif and husband, Anthony, Great Bend, Kansas, and Leslie Lynn Lindberg and husband, Aron, Great Bend, Kansas; one brother, George Read, Great Bend, Kansas; one sister, Margaret Read Halling, Great Bend, Kansas; three grandchildren, Rashelle Barton, Colby Barton, and Taylor Lindberg. She was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Read. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at First Southern Baptist Church, Great Bend. The Reverend Doyle Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend, Kansas. Friends may call from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2007, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, December 19, 2007, at Bryant Funeral Home. A memorial fund in Mrs. Krom's name has been established with the Central Kansas Medical Center Foundation for the benefit of the Heartland Cancer Center, in care of the funeral home.
