Peggy Lois Boyd, 83, died May 21, 2012 at her home in Dallas, Texas. She was born May 10, 1929 at Pampa, Texas, the daughter of Alva Austin and Marjorie Edith (Ramsey) Shank. She married Henry Douglas "Doug" Boyd July 22, 1951 at Great Bend, Kansas. He died November 24, 1998. A Great Bend resident since 1938, coming from Pampa, living the past few years in Dallas near her daughter, Mrs. Boyd was a homemaker. Mrs. Boyd was a member of First Christian Church and was active in many women's groups. She was a loving mother and grandmother, devoted to her family. Survivors include three daughters: Kim Leigh Boyd, Dallas; Lisa Ann Boyd and her husband Roger Boeken, Lawrence, Kansas; and Sally Jo Hooper and her husband Jim, Round Rock, Texas; and two grandchildren: Austin James Hooper and Cameron Douglas Hooper. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home with the Reverend William F. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Golden Belt Humane Society or First Christian Church, in care of the funeral home.
