Pauline Sheeks, 87, died February 2, 2009 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born February 13, 1921 at Deering, Kansas, the daughter of Charles E. and Lucy (Vining) Bolte. She married Mervin C. Sheeks December 21, 1943 at Lyons, Kansas. He died December 26, 1991. A Claflin, Kansas, resident since 1948, moving to Ellinwood in 2002, Mrs. Sheeks was a homemaker. Survivors include three daughters: Cheryl Shuck and husband, Gary, San Antonio, Texas; Schela Carlton and husband, Brian, Manhattan, Kansas; and Shirley Robl and husband, Terry, Ellsworth, Kansas; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters; and one granddaughter, Lori Shuck. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home with the Reverend John Grummon officiating. Burial will be in Claflin Cemetery. Freinds may call from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2009 and from 9:00 a.m. to service time Thursday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the ICU Unit at Central Kansas Medical Center, in care of the funeral home.
