Paul T. Friebus, 75, died April 8, 2011 at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood, Kansas. He was born February 9, 1936 in Russell County, Kansas, the son of Carl C. and Emma(Galliart)Friebus. A longtime Claflin and Ellinwood resident, Mr. Friebus was a retired custodian of the Claflin and Holyrood School Districts, retiring in 1995. He was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Friebus was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Claflin; and St. John Lutheran Church, Ellinwood. Survivors include one sister, Clara Seyfert, Ellinwood; three nieces: Ruth Billinger and husband Steve, Wilson, Kansas; Karen Rabenseifner and husband Ed, Seward, Kansas; and Donna Smith and husband Gary, Coldwater, Kansas; seven great-nieces and nephews; three step-great-nieces and nephews; thirteen great-great-nieces and nephews; and eleven step-great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home with the Reverend Jeffrey Frakes officiating. Burial will be in Claflin Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday and from 9:00 a.m. to service time Tuesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to Hospice Care of Kansas or St. John's Lutheran church, or the donor's choice, in care of the funeral home.
