Patricia Lynn "Patty" Michael, 49, died March 29, 2012 at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born January 25, 1963 at Hoisington, Kansas, the daughter of Gilbert J. and Joyce M. (Burkhart) Sander. She married James B. Michael February 14, 1994 at Evergreen, Colorado. A Great Bend resident most of her life, Mrs. Michael was a cook for CKMC for fourteen years and was a cook and a CNA for Rush County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care. She was of the Christian faith. Survivors include her husband, James B. Michael, of the home; five sisters: Sharon Fox, Manchester, Missouri; Becky Wornkey, Great Bend; Debbie Shank, Hays, Kansas; Shirley Tomlin, Great Bend; and Connie Sander, Black Hawk, Colorado; and her dog, Chester. She was preceded in death by one brother, James Sander; and one nephew, Darren Wornkey. Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home with Mark Tomlin officiating. Inurnment will be in Great Bend Cemetery. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Patricia Michael Memorial Expense Fund, in care of the funeral home.
