Patricia Joan Brandt, 73, died September 26, 2014 at Cheyenne Mountain Care Center, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Born March 4, 1941 at Russell, she was the daughter of Paul and Virginia (Henshaw) Kanitz. She married Robert C. Brandt November 12, 1984 at Hutchinson. He died March 13, 2007. A Great Bend resident most of her life, Mrs. Brandt was a secretary in an insurance agency. Survivors include three sons: Wayne Simpson and his wife Danita of Wichita, Michael Simpson and his wife Lisa of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Jason Simpson and his wife Falisha of Ellinwood; one daughter, Debbie Ford of Wiley, Colo.; one sister, Nancy Bramsteadt of Colorado Springs, Colo.; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2014 at Great Bend Cemetery in Great Bend with Pastor Al Hatten officiating. Inurnment will be at Great Bend Cemetery. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
