Orvel W. Dailey, 83, died September 9, 2009 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend, Kansas. He was born October 21, 1925 at Emporia, Kansas, the son of Joseph Taylor and Mildred (Getner) Dailey. He married Ruth Rice November 23, 1960 in Oklahoma. A resident of Great Bend for fifty years, Mr. Dailey was retired from the oilfield. He was a United States Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Dailey, of the home; one daughter, Patricia Zimmerman, Kansas City, Kansas; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Latta. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 11, 2009 at Hoisington Cemetery. The Reverend John Grummon will officiate. Friends may call from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 10, 2009 and from 9:00 a.m. to service time at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Great Bend Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.
