Opal M. Snider, 105, died September 29, 2010 at Presbyterian Manor, Topeka, Kansas. She was born February 5, 1905 at Mahaska, Kansas, the daughter of Amos and Sophenia May. She married Clifford Snider May 24, 1929 at Ness City, Kansas. He died April 29, 1980. She was a retired school teacher having taught in Ness City for twelve years. They moved to Dodge City in 1943 and then to Hoisington in 1978. Mrs. Snider was a member of First Christian Church, Dodge City. Survivors include one daughter, Joanne Adams and husband Charles, Topeka; son-in-law Dr. Keith Ritter and wife Becky, Hoisington; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Edith Ritter; and one son, Owen Snider. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, October 1, 2010 at Hoisington Cemetery. The Reverend Kris Brinlee will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
