Oletha F. Wendt, 79, died May 11, 2010 at Cedar Village Long Term Care, Ness City, Kansas. She was born August 9, 1930 at Great Bend, Kansas, the daughter of James and Hazel (Selle) Christiansen. She married Bruce Everett Wendt, Sr., October 25, 1950 at Williston, North Dakota. He died January 4, 2007. A homemaker, Mrs. Wendt was a Great Bend resident since 1970. She was an avid bowler, taking pride in teaching her children and grandchildren how to bowl; and was a bingo enthusiast. Survivors include one son, Teven Wendt and wife Sandy, Wichita, Kansas; one daughter, Janell Michel and husband Dennis, Brownell, Kansas; one sister, Reba Richter, Ellinwood, Kansas; four grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Bruce "B. J." Wendt, Jr., and one grandson, Bobby Dean. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date. Bryant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
