Nova N. Bishop, 86, died April 18, 2012 at her home, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born April 29, 1925 at Ingram, Arkansas, the daughter of Paul and Opha (Rush) Hayes. She married Cloys William Bishop August 9, 1941 at Pocahontas, Arkansas. He died December 5, 1981. A Great Bend resident since 1982, coming from Timken, Kansas, Mrs. Bishop was dietary supervisor for the Great Bend Manor, retiring in June 1986. Mrs. Bishop was a member of the Church of Christ, Great Bend. Survivors include one son, Paul Bishop and his wife Karen, Great Bend; two daughters: Betty Chlumsky, Great Bend; and Willie Ellis and her husband John, Parsons, Kansas; four grandchildren: Michael Mitchell and his wife Karen, Ellinwood, Kansas; Cherie Bishop, Great Bend; Robin Niebarger and her husband Todd, Parsons; and John John Ellis and his wife Melody, Melcolm, Arkansas; three great-grandchildren: J. C. Ellis, Clint Niebarger, and Jamie Niebarger; and two adopted grandchildren: Amber Kasselman and Kacee Kasselman. She was preceded in death by one son-in-law, John Chlumsky; one granddaughter, Tammy Bishop; four brothers; and one sister. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Church of Christ with Chuck Marshall officiating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 20, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Church of Christ or Golden Belt Home Health and Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
