Norma Lee Strobel, 79, died September 12, 2012 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born September 12, 1933 at Great Bend, the daughter of Dan and Dauvina (Smith) Schmidt. She married Jerome Strobel June 12, 1953 at Pawnee Rock, Kansas. He died October 12, 1983. A Great Bend resident since 2006, coming from Hays and Gorham, Mrs. Strobel was a teller at Gorham State Bank and was a sorority mother at Fort Hays State University. Mrs. Strobel was a member of Fellowship of Faith, Great Bend. Survivors include three sons: John Strobel, Joseph Strobel, and Jeffery Strobel, all of Great Bend; one sister, Glendora Schmidt, Larned, Kansas; one brother, J. D. Smith, Larned; and four grandchildren: Deana Strobel, Sean Strobel, Jillian Strobel, and Matthew Strobel. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Karla Strobel. Memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home. The Reverend Arlyn Thielenhaus will officiate. Inurnment will be in Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Gorham. The family will greet friends from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Kans for Kids, in care of the funeral home.
