Nolen Gene Nairn, 86, died Nov. 17, 2015, at Stafford County Hospital. Born Aug. 27, 1929, in Great Bend, he was the son of John L. and Sylvia Blanche (Ewing) Nairn. On Oct. 8, 1950, he married Earlene Kiger in Great Bend. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, he was a self-employed hot oil operator.

Survivors include his wife. Earlene Nairn, of the home; two sons, Douglas Nairn and his wife Sheree of Lawrence, and Clay Nairn and his wife Lisa of Shawnee; one daughter, Cathi J. Conaway and her husband Chuck of Great Bend; seven grandchildren, Melissa, Shawn, Ryan, Dallas, Bailey, Jake and Dakota "Koty Bear"; and two great-grandchildren, Cami and Elena. He was preceded in death by three brothers, John Wendell Nairn, Daryl Lynn Nairn and Loren R. Nairn; and six sisters, V. Fern Walden, Violettie M. Schwager, Elva L. Petz, Doris E. Unruh, L. Winifred Pierce and Willa F. Smith.

A private family service will be held. Cremation has taken place. Memorials are requested to the Alzheimer's Association, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
