Neva Lee Soukup, 77, of Great Bend, passed away April 17, 2007, at her residence. Mrs. Soukup was born January 9, 1930, at Natoma, Kansas, to Everett and Golda Harsh Matheson. Neva married Billie Gene Soukup on December 1, 1954, at Clovis, New Mexico. He died on July 1, 1999. Mrs. Soukup was a homemaker and had been a resident of Great Bend since 1998 coming from Hoisington, Kansas. Mrs. Soukup had been a member of the First Christian Church in Logan, Kansas. Mrs. Soukup is survived by one son, Jerald Gilbert, Del City, Oklahoma; one brother, LeRoy Matheson, Aurora, Colorado; and one grandson, Shawn Gilbert. Mrs. Soukup's graveside service will be Monday, April 23, 2007, 2:00 p.m., at the Great Bend Mausoleum, Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend, Kansas, officiated by the Reverend William F. Johnson. Visitation for Mrs. Soukup will be Sunday, April 22, 2007, 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Monday, April 23, 2007, 9:00 a.m. to Noon at Bryant Funeral Home.
