Nathalie J. Schaben, 84, died June 22, 2012 at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born February 19, 1928 at the family farm, Ness County, Kansas, the daughter of William "Bill" and Lois (McDonald) Borger. She was raised in Ness County and was a graduate of Ness City High School. She married Lyle E. Schaben February 15, 1947 at Bazine, Kansas. A Great Bend resident since 2005, coming from Bazine, Mrs. Schaben was a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Survivors include her husband, Lyle E. Schaben, of the home; one son, Kenneth Schaben and his wife Connie, Hays, Kansas; two daughters: Yolanda Schaben and her husband Johnny, Great Bend; and Patti Amerine and her husband Martin, Great Bend; two brothers: Rod Borger, Ness City; and Tim Borger, Cheyenne, Wyoming; two sisters: Joanne Stenzel, Ness City; and Shelby Kay Seib, Ness City; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Marjorie Sackett; and one grandson, Greg Schaben. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, June 25, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home. The Reverend Tom Sheldon will officiate. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m., Monday at the Bazine Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 24, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home.
