Nadine (Karst) Deutsch, age 82, died Monday, August 12, 2013 at Catholic Care Center in Bel Aire, Kansas. She was born September 20, 1930 in Galatia, Kansas the daughter of Herman and Tabea (Steinert) Karst. Nadine graduated from Hoisington High School and was a lifelong Hoisington resident until recently moving to Bel Aire to be closer to her son. She worked at J.C. Penney's for 18 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Hoisington where she was very active in many church activities. She enjoyed reading and doing crafts. She married Vernon Deutsch April 23, 1950 at Hoisington, Kansas. He preceded her in death on December 20, 2006. Survivors include two sons: Brad Deutsch and wife Sheryl of Wichita, Kansas, Bruce Deutsch and wife Becky of Livonia, Michigan; one daughter: Brenda Kintz and husband Steve of Cicero, Indiana; two brothers: Herman Karst and wife Joyce of Casper, Wyoming, Wayne Karst and wife Karen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; five grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister: Christabelle Cuthrell Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Hoisington with Reverend Mark Lovett officiating. Burial will follow at Hoisington Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, August 16, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington.
