Nadine Christiansen, 83, died December 12, 2010 at Great Bend Regional Hospital, Great Bend, Kansas. She was born January 5, 1927 at Barton County, Kansas, the daughter of Virgil and Lucille (Newkirk) Amerine. She married Gerald J. Christiansen July 14, 1946 at Great Bend. A lifetime Great Bend resident, she was a homemaker. Mrs. Christiansen was a member of the Christian faith, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and American Legion Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved family, crossword puzzles, soap operas, country music, and game shows. Survivors include her husband, Gerald J. Christiansen, of the home; one son, Gary Christiansen and wife Judy, Great Bend; one daughter, Kathy Hansen and husband Mike, Lincoln, Kansas; five grandchildren: Shawn Christiansen, Great Bend; Nick Christiansen and wife Candis, Great Bend; Todd Edmundson and wife Angie, Boulder, Colorado; Sage Edmundson, Lincoln; and Jamie Hansen, Lincoln; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Amerine; and one sister, Betty Ballhorst. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Bryant Funeral Home. Pastor Dennis Wallace will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, December 17, 2010 and from 9:00 a.m. to service time Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home.
