Muriel Belcher, 78, died August 14, 2012 at her Great Bend, Kansas, residence. She was born June 20, 1934 at Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Harold and Muriel (Dieck) Bertsch. She married Owens Belcher July 23, 1959 at Reno, Nevada. He died December 31, 1987. A Great Bend resident since 1969, coming from New Jersey, Mrs. Belcher was a homemaker. Mrs. Belcher was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend. Survivors include one son, Kevin Belcher, Great Bend; three daughters: Karen Rouse and her husband Mike, Great Bend; Kimberly Schwerdtfeger and her husband Phil, Lewisville, Texas; and Karla Dotson and her husband Ray, Wichita, Kansas; fourteen grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Great Bend Cemetery with the Reverend Dick Ogle officiating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Hospice Care of Kansas or the Muriel Belcher Funeral Expense Fund, in care of the funeral home.
